A380


The A380 (formerly A3XX) is a new generation long-haul passenger aircraft developed by the Western European consortium Airbus. The development of the aircraft, originally designated as Airbus A3XX, was launched in 1994. The aircraft is designed using the latest technology and standards for efficiency and comfort. The aircraft has a two-tier passenger cabin with a maximum comfort capacity of 481 to 656 passengers. The aircraft is also produced in the cargo version A380-F with a maximum payload of 150 tons. Depending on the load, the flight distance of the aircraft is 7650 -8750 nautical miles (14168-16205 kilometers). The aircraft has new turbofan engines manufactured by CFM International with a 311 kN thrust.
Serial production of the aircraft was launched in late 2000. It is planned to produce the aircraft in the following versions: 555-seater A380-100; ultra-long A380-100R, A380-100C Combi, A380-100E Freighter (load up to 150 tons), 656-seater A380-200, and a shortened version of 480 seats - A38050. By the beginning of 2001, contracts were signed for the production of 50 aircraft for the airlines Air France, Emirates, International Lease Finance Corporation, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.
