The Italian Compagnia Generate Auto- mobili, which had its headquarters in Rome and a small workshop in Lecco, began its operations in 1925 with the purchase of a license to manufacture popular French sports cars AMILCAR. In 1927, another Italian firm Societa Industriale Lombardo Veneta from Verona bought the license for their production.
