AMILCAR ITALIANA, Rome, Italy, 1925-1928

The Italian Compagnia Generate Auto- mobili, which had its headquarters in Rome and a small workshop in Lecco, began its operations in 1925 with the purchase of a license to manufacture popular French sports cars AMILCAR. In Italy, produced two models - lightweight convertibles “6CV” and “7CV Grand Sport”, corresponding to the French car series “CC”. Later, the sport range “GS” and the passenger “C-4” with 4-cylinder engines were added to them. They were produced under the brand name “Grand Sport" or "Amilcar Italy".
In 1927, another Italian firm Societa Industriale Lombardo Veneta from Verona bought the license for their production. To the cars already produced in Italy, she added the “7CV Gran Sport" model with a compressor that corresponded to the French “CGSS”. A year later, the production of all Italian “amil cars” ceased.
