Altea, Italy, 1939-1941

Shortly before the outbreak of World War II, Alberico Seiling, the founder of the motorcycle company MAC, designed an interesting motorcycle called the Altea. It was built in a small workshop in Milan. The overhead valve engine with a working volume of 196 cm3 received a sucker-rod drive of a partially open valve mechanism. The cylinder had a non-removable head. The motor was locked with a three-speed manual gearbox. The front fork was parallelogram, the rear pendulum was suspended on a vertical central shock absorber. The motor and main gears were chained, and the motor gear was in an aluminum casing. Motorcycle could reach speeds of up to 75 km / h. In 1940, a tricycle motorcycle with the same engine appeared, but a year later, due to the military situation of Sailing, the production of motorcycles had to be curtailed.
