BREVETTI-FIAT, Turin, Italy, 1906-1908

In 1905, FIAT, together with the engineering and metallurgical enterprise Michele Ansaldi, founded the joint venture FIAT-Ansaldi. The company intended to build cars of the type '' 10 / 12CV ”, but a year later it broke up with the emergence (April 26, 1906) of the new company“ BREVETTI-FIAT ”, which resumed production of the previous model“ 10/12 HP. ”This car was soon improved and called “12/16 HP." A 4-cylinder 3-liter engine with two blocks of two cylinders and a closed body with a separate room for passengers were installed on the car. To facilitate landing, the side members in the middle of the frame were cut.
It was the only model released on the "BREVETTI-FIAT", which in 1909 became part of the FIAT. Based on it, subsequently built a passenger car "FIAT-Tipo 2".
